From October 28 to November 1, 2025, UBIK Consulting had the honor of welcoming the delegation from Invest in Grenoble Alpes, led by Mr. Nicolas Béroud and Ms. Alexandrine Romestant, for a full week of activities in Taiwan.
The mission aimed to strengthen ties between France's "Silicon Valley", the Grenoble Alpes region, and Taiwan's vibrant innovation ecosystem, fostering exchanges in energy, semiconductors, sustainability, and technology transfer.
Energy Taiwan & Net-Zero Taiwan 2025 – Showcasing Grenoble' s Green Excellence
The week began at the Energy Taiwan & Net-Zero Taiwan 2025 Exhibition (October 29–31), where Invest in Grenoble Alpes presented the region's leadership in clean energy, hydroelectricity, and sustainable innovation.
Visitors discovered Grenoble Alpes, European Green Capital 2022, through interactive visuals, informative flyers, and a lively Kahoot quiz. The quiz, designed by UBIK, allowed participants to learn fun facts about the region's achievements in renewable energy, research, and innovation while winning small prizes such as tote bags, notebooks, and pens.
Workshops in Taipei & Taoyuan – Bridging Startup Ecosystems
To close the mission, UBIK and Invest in Grenoble Alpes co-organized 3 startup workshops in partnership with major Taiwanese accelerators:
IAPS NYCU Accelerator (ASPN)
Taiwan Startup Hub – Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, MOEA
Taoyuan Youth Affairs Bureau – Skyline Accelerator
Across the sessions, the team met with over 15 startups from sectors such as AgriTech & Sustainable Agriculture, GreenTech & EV Infrastructure, Cybersecurity for Industrial Systems, and AI Innovation in Sports Tech and Healthcare.
Each workshop included:
A presentation of Invest in Grenoble Alpes and the Grenoble Alpes ecosystem
A Tech & Fest 2026 introduction in Mandarin by Meiling Tsai from UBIK
A Q&A session followed by Taiwanese startup pitches, allowing direct dialogue and collaboration opportunities
The discussions were rich and insightful, focusing on international expansion strategies, local partnerships, and investment opportunities, while exploring how Grenoble Alpes could serve as a European landing zone for Taiwanese innovators.
Business Meetings in Hsinchu – Connecting Innovation Hubs
Midweek, the team traveled to Hsinchu, Taiwan' s leading high-tech cluster, for targeted B2B meetings with two innovative companies. Discussions focused on semiconductors, photonics, sensor innovation, and advanced materials, exploring potential partnerships, joint R&D, and opportunities for European market entry.
The meetings also highlighted Tech & Fest, Grenoble's flagship event that merges technology, innovation, and industry, featuring exhibitions, startup bootcamps, site visits, and networking opportunities. Invest in Grenoble Alpes introduced Tech & Fest as an ideal gateway for Taiwanese startups and scale-ups to connect with Europe's innovation leaders and expand their global footprint.
